Lincroft sits in the southwestern corner of Middletown Township — bordered by Thompson Park’s 677 acres to the west, the Swimming River Reservoir to the south, and the Garden State Parkway to the east. It’s a community of tree-lined streets, generous lots (most are a third of an acre or larger), and homes built primarily between the 1950s and 1980s.
The housing stock here is mostly colonials, split-levels, and ranches — the kind of homes that were wired for a different era. Original 100-amp panels. Aluminum wiring in some cases. Fuse boxes that are still hanging on. These homes were designed when families had one TV, no air conditioning, and certainly no electric vehicles in the garage.
We’re based in Red Bank, about 10 minutes from Newman Springs Road. We’ve worked in Lincroft for nearly 30 years — upgrading panels in the Lincroft Estates section, rewiring homes near Brookdale Community College, installing generators for families off Swimming River Road. We know this area.
Most Lincroft homes from the 1950s-70s still have 100-amp panels or older fuse boxes. We upgrade to 200-amp service to handle modern electrical loads — and it's typically required before adding an EV charger or central air.
Level 2 home charger installations for Tesla, Ford, Rivian, and all other EVs. Most Lincroft homes need a panel evaluation first — there's often not enough capacity without an upgrade. Get an estimate for an EV Charger in Lincroft -->
Recessed lighting for kitchen renovations, landscape lighting for those generous Lincroft lots, security lighting for driveways and entryways.
Lincroft is an unincorporated section of Middletown with its own distinct housing character — heavily weighted toward 1960s and 1970s colonials on wooded lots along Swimming River Road, Lincroft Road, and Nut Swamp Road. These homes were solidly built but their electrical systems are now 50–60 years old, and the failures arrive on a predictable schedule: breakers that trip under moderate load, outlets that intermittently lose power, light switches that feel warm to the touch, and circuits that hum or buzz inside the walls.
We trace electrical problems to their root cause — not just the outlet that died, but the connection upstream that failed, the wire that overheated, or the breaker that's no longer calibrated correctly. Lincroft homeowners are often mid-renovation when they call us, and we coordinate with GCs to keep projects on track.
Aluminum wiring remediation, circuit additions, and whole-house rewiring for homes that need more than a panel upgrade.
Lincroft's mature trees are beautiful until a nor'easter brings them down on power lines. When JCP&L is working through a regional outage, a standby generator keeps your home running automatically.
Protect your appliances, electronics, and HVAC equipment from power surges. Especially important in homes with aging wiring.
We’ve completed hundreds of jobs in Lincroft over the years — panel upgrades, generator installations, rewiring projects, EV charger setups. Here’s what homeowners in your area have to say

Lincroft’s post-war housing boom means most homes are now 40-70 years old. Electrical systems from that era weren’t designed for today’s demands:
Panel capacity: A 100-amp panel was standard in the 1960s. Today, between central air, modern kitchens, home offices, and EV chargers, most Lincroft homes need 200-amp service.
Aluminum wiring: Some homes built in the late 1960s and early 1970s used aluminum branch wiring — a cost-saving measure that’s now recognized as a fire risk at connection points. It requires remediation.
Outdated outlets: Two-prong ungrounded outlets are common in older Lincroft homes. Modern electronics and appliances need grounded three-prong circuits.
Insufficient circuits: Homes built with 8-10 circuits are now trying to run 20+ appliances. The result is tripped breakers, overloaded wiring, and potential hazards.
If you’re renovating, adding central air, or thinking about an EV charger, the electrical system is usually the first thing that needs to be addressed.
