We’re Super Power Electric, based in Red Bank — just 5 minutes from Fair Haven. We’ve been serving this community since 1996, and we understand the range of electrical challenges Fair Haven homeowners face.
Fair Haven is the kind of town where kids ride bikes to school, neighbors know each other by name, and families put down roots for generations. It’s a small borough — just two square miles — but it packs a lot of character into those tree-lined streets between the Navesink River and Red Bank.
It’s also a town with a diverse housing stock that spans more than 150 years — from the 19th-century cottages in the Old Village to mid-century colonials to new construction designed to blend with Fair Haven’s architectural character.
Our shop is in Red Bank — literally a five-minute drive across the Navesink River bridge. We’ve done panel upgrades on Battin Road, generator installs on Hance Road, whole-house rewires in the Old Village section, and EV charger installations for the steady stream of Teslas and Rivians showing up in Fair Haven driveways. This is one of our most active service areas.
Fair Haven's older colonials and pre-war homes along River Road commonly still have 60-100 amp panels — some with original fuse boxes. We upgrade to 200-amp service to safely handle modern loads like central AC, EV chargers, and renovated kitchens. For the larger new-construction homes going up in town, we install 320-400 amp service with multiple sub-panels to support pool equipment, home theaters, wine cellars, and smart home systems.
Fair Haven has one of the highest EV adoption rates in Monmouth County. We handle Level 2 home charger installations for Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint Home Flex, and all other makes. Most older Fair Haven homes need a panel upgrade first — there's rarely 40-50 amps of spare capacity in a legacy 100-amp system. We handle the full scope: panel upgrade, dedicated 240V circuit, and charger mounting. See our EV Charging installations in Fair Haven, NJ.
Fair Haven's repair calls reflect the borough's split personality — one foot in the 1920s, one in the 2020s. In the Old Village along Fair Haven Road and DeNormandie Avenue, we troubleshoot problems born from century-old wiring: circuits that intermittently drop, outlets that spark, fixtures on knob-and-tube that flicker under load. Along River Road and in The Gentry, the issues shift to modern systems under stress — GFCI outlets tripping near water, dimmer switches incompatible with LED retrofits, and home automation systems pulling phantom loads that confuse older panels.
Then there are the teardown-rebuilds, where brand-new construction occasionally reveals installation defects or design oversights that need correction. Whatever the era, whatever the issue, we trace it to the source and fix it properly — not just patch the symptom.
From troubleshooting a tripping breaker in a 1950s ranch to wiring a brand-new 4,000 sq ft colonial from the ground up, we handle the full range of residential electrical work in Fair Haven. View our complete electrical service offerings.
Many Fair Haven homes — especially in the historic Old Village section — still have original knob-and-tube or cloth-wrapped wiring hidden behind plaster walls. We do full and partial rewires with minimal wall disruption, bringing homes up to current NEC code. This is especially critical before any major renovation, as insurance companies are increasingly refusing to cover homes with legacy wiring.
Power outages from nor'easters and summer storms hit the Navesink River corridor hard. We're a certified standby generator installer — Generac, Kohler, and Briggs & Stratton. We handle everything from sizing the unit to your home's load, to the gas line coordination, concrete pad, automatic transfer switch, and final inspection. Fair Haven's larger homes typically need a 22-24kW unit to cover whole-house backup.
A single lightning strike or utility surge can destroy thousands of dollars in electronics, smart home equipment, and appliances. We install whole-house surge protectors at the main panel that absorb voltage spikes before they reach your devices — critical for Fair Haven homes running high-end AV systems, home offices, and networked smart home setups.
We’ve built our reputation in Fair Haven through quality work and reliable service! Don’t take our word for it, hear it from our customers!

Aging Panels in Pre-War and Mid-Century Homes — A large portion of Fair Haven’s housing stock was built between the 1920s and 1960s. Many of these homes are still running on original 60-100 amp electrical panels with outdated breakers or fuse boxes. These systems weren’t designed for central air conditioning, multiple home office setups, EV chargers, or the electrical demands of a modern kitchen renovation. A 200-amp panel upgrade is typically the first step in any major electrical improvement.
Cloth-Wrapped and Knob-and-Tube Wiring — The older homes in Fair Haven’s historic sections — particularly near River Road and the Old Village — frequently have original wiring that’s 70-100 years old. Cloth insulation becomes brittle and cracks, exposing conductors. Knob-and-tube has no ground wire and can’t safely handle modern loads. Both are fire hazards, and both are increasingly flagged by insurance companies during policy renewals or home sales.
New Construction and Gut Renovation Demands — Fair Haven is seeing a wave of teardown-rebuilds and high-end renovations. These projects require 200-400 amp service, dozens of dedicated circuits, structured wiring for data/AV, whole-house lighting control, and coordination with builders, plumbers, and HVAC contractors. We handle the full electrical scope on new construction from rough-in through final inspection and certificate of occupancy.
Storm Exposure and Power Reliability — The Navesink River corridor and low-lying areas of Fair Haven are vulnerable to extended outages during nor’easters and coastal storms. Trees on overhead lines, aging JCP&L infrastructure, and flood exposure all contribute to reliability issues. A properly sized standby generator with an automatic transfer switch is the most reliable solution — and demand has surged since Sandy and Ida proved how long outages can last.
High-Value Homes Need Matched Electrical Systems — With a median home price above $1.4 million and many properties well above that, Fair Haven homeowners are investing heavily in their properties. But a $300,000 kitchen renovation on a 60-amp panel is a mismatch. Smart home systems, wine cellars, pool equipment, home theaters, and EV chargers all require electrical infrastructure that matches the investment. We help Fair Haven homeowners bring their electrical systems in line with the rest of their home.
In business since 1996, we are a family owned company providing best in-class service! Our electricians are all licensed and insured, operating on the belief that quality work means a happy customer!
